Leerink Partners initiates coverage on Medidata Solutions (NASDAQ: MDSO) with a Market Perform rating and a price target of $47.00.

Analyst Steven Wardell commented, "We initiate coverage of Medidata with a MP rating and $47 price target as we like Medidata's leadership in the clinical cloud but are cautious regarding the impact of current opex spend on earnings and on revenue growth visibility farther out and believe the stock is now fairly valued after a ~40% run."
