October 30, 2009 7:02 AM EDT

Kaufman Bros. reiterates a 'Buy' on American Superconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: AMSC) Price target increased from $36 to $40.

Kaufman analyst says, "American Superconductor makes all of its money in the wind business by designing turbines, creating the product specs, sourcing the materials and selling the electronics. Revenue per turbine ranges from $10,000 to $100,000 with the majority at the mid to high end. It receives royalty payments, license fees and revenue from selling electronics. Based on the existing book of business, we feel our top-line fiscal 2010 estimates are conservative...Our price target of $40 is based on the shares trading for 6x our fiscal 2010 revenue estimate."
