Jefferies raised estimates and its price target on Humana (NYSE: HUM) from $88 to $93 following fourth quarter results on Monday which beat the consensus while guidance was maintained.
The analyst comments, "Although HUM maintained 2013 EPS guidance, we are more positive on the company beating internal expectations and narrowing the gap to consensus. Flu costs have peaked, we have more visibility into favorable membership trends, and Commercial cost trend remains subdued. Additionally, HUM provided reassuring comments on the 2014 MA business."
The firm raised Q1 EPS estimates from $1.56 to $1.83 and FY13 from $7.76 to $7.87.
