Jefferies & Co Analyst Says Energy Conversion Devices (ENER) is Top Pick of Year - Clean Technology

January 11, 2007 10:22 AM EST

Jefferies & Co analyst, Jeffrey W. Bencik, comments on Energy Conversion Devices (Nasdaq: ENER).

Bencik says, "We believe that 2007 will likely be a volatile, but rewarding year for investors as attention shifts from company specific performance to a top down focus on the evolution of solar incentive schemes. Our top picks are ENER and Solarworld (SWV.DE 47.6 Euros, Buy)."

"The volatility will likely emerge as a by-product of the creation of these plans as interested parties lobby governments to influence the size and scope of the solar incentive programs. We continue to believe demand for solar modules is likely to remain significantly higher than suppl due in part to the slow expansion of silicon supply, but more importantly to increasing global incentives that have increased demand."
