Global Equities Research is out with commentary on Tesla Motors (Nasdaq: TSLA) following a post by CEO Elon Musk on Twitter announcing that the company will debut a new product in late April. The firm rates Tesla at Overweight with a $385 price target.
Analyst Trip Chowdhry made the following observations on the announcement:
- This announcement is very likely related to Launch of New Product Line "Stationary Battery for Residential Consumer"
- TSLA has been testing residential stationary batteries in about 200 - 250 households in California for about last 2 years
- We know of 2 households, who have TSLA stationary batteries Installed
- We will try to have a conference call with one of the persons we know, who had TSLA battery installed in his garage...but since he works...probably, the conference call may happen after 5:00 PM West Coast time, if he agrees to it
- We will provide further research, marketing sizing etc...once we conduct more research...so please remain tuned.....
