Credit Suisse upgraded Kinross Gold (NYSE: KGC) from Neutral to Outperform with a price target of $2.75 (from $2.25).
Analyst A. Soni commented, "We are upgrading KGC ahead of its Feb. 10th guidance and reserve update due to (i) currency tailwinds that could help KGC beat consensus on 2016 guidance and result in higher NAV estimates for Paracatu and Kupol; (ii) relatively low reserve risk; (iii) improved production profile; (iv) declining balance sheet risk with higher gold prices; and (v) attractive valuation and KGC's high leverage to the gold price."
