Canaccord Adams lifted their price targets on Intermune (Nasdaq: ITMN) today to a 'street high' $66 per share after an FDA advisory panel voted 9-3 to recommend approval of pirfenidone for treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The firm maintained a Buy rating.
Analyst Adam Cutler said, "Investors had understandably been focused on the approvability of pirfenidone. Now that approval should be very likely, investors will likely shift their focus to the market opportunity, which may be larger than many people realize."
Shares of ITMN are up 67% today to $38.89.
