Barclays Issues Positive Comments on American Electric Power (AEP); Raises Price Target

Friday morning (Feb. 10), American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) issues 2012 EPS guidance of $3.05-$3.25 vs. consensus of $3.17. Shares fell but finished the day only down $0.16.

This mornings, Barclays issued positive comments, maintaining an 'Overweight' on AEP, and raising its price target by $1 to $46.

Analyst, Daniel Ford, said, "We are buyers of the stock here. The Ohio risk has been greatly overblown, in our view, and with AEP including some portion of increased shopping in its guidance to reflect this risk, we don't believe there is material downside for the stock."

Today, shares of AEP have rebounded...last trade $39.72, up $0.42 (+1.07%).
