Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) launched its PlayBook tablet Tuesday, entering the burgeoning market dominated by Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad.

Evercore analyst Alkesh Shah said, "Enterprise surveys show strong interest and comfort with pricing levels, leading us to expect better-than-expected penetration of the 50 million BlackBerry user base over the next few years."

Shah sees the PlayBook adding a minimum of 40 cents to the company's EPS in fiscal 2012. The analyst reiterated an Overweight rating on RIM.

"Early innings for tablet market and PlayBook looks like a player," Shah added. "We model 55 million tablets to ship in 2011 and 103 million in 2012. For RIMM, we model 4 million PlayBooks to ship in 2011 and 13.5 million in 2012."

Shares of RIM are down 1.90 percent to $53.79 in midday action Tuesday.
