JANA Partners Boosts Stake in Commscope (CTV) to 7.2%

In a 13G filing after the close on Commscope Inc. (NYSE: CTV), JANA Partners disclosed a 7.21% stake (4,860,288 shares) in the company. The firm held 963,975 shares at the quarter ended 12/31.

The 7.21% stake makes JANA the third largest holder of Commscope, behind Barclays and Wellington Management.

CommScope, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides infrastructure solutions for communication networks worldwide. It operates in three segments: Enterprise, Broadband, and Carrier.

JANA Partners LLC is New York based hedge fund with about $8 billion in assets. The fund launched in April 2001 and is managed by founder Barry Rosenstein. The company primarily invests in the United States public equity markets and uses activist strategies, a market neutral strategy, a long/short equity strategy, and a risk arbitrage strategy while making investments.
