In a 13G filing on recent IPO PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (NYSE: PMT) John Griffin's Blue Ridge Capital hedge funds disclosed they took a 9.5%, or 1,584,000 share, stake in the company. A 13G indicates a 'passive investment' above 5%.
Shares of is PennyMac Mortgage came public on July 30, pricing 16,000,000 common shares at $20.00 per share. The stock currently trades at $19.10 per share.
PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust is a newly-formed mortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) that will invest primarily in residential mortgage loans and mortgage-related assets. The company was founded by former Countrywide executive Stanford Kurland.
